Dumpster rental permit:

We start with the need for a rental permit because it's one of the most asked questions by potential customers. Getting a dumpster rental permit depends on your municipality and the ownership of your property.

You may get a rental permit when you’re not the owner of the proposed location for the dumpster.

Dumpster: 

This is a generic name used to describe movable garbage containers. Most times it is called ‘roll-off dumpster’ ‘rental dumpster’ or ‘roll-off bin.’ They are all designed to be lifted away by a special truck that empties the content (trash) at the landfill.

C&D: 

This term means Construction and Demolition. C&D projects are expected to generate waste like concrete, bricks, gravel and other materials.

Overage: 

This term has to do with weight allowances or the allotted amount of space per dumpster. The weight allowance is not the same for all companies, but it is compulsory to abide by the limit given by each dumpster provider. When you exceed the limits given by the provider, it is called ‘overage,’ and you will be penalized.

Hauling fee: 

This is a fee payable by the customer for the rental duration and dumpster pickup services rendered by the provider.

Dump fee: 

This is the fee incurred by dumpster providers at the landfills, and it is not constant.

Mixed loads:

The combination of household debris with remodeling junks and other recyclables is known as mixed loads. It gives an extra job to the dumpster provider, and you may be charged higher rates (depending on the company)

The Materials Recovery Facility (MRF): 

This is a specialized plant that is designed to separate the mixed loads. Such facilities are also known as multi re-use facilities or material reclamation facilities. They separate the mixed loads into recyclables and trash.

Municipal Solid Waste (MSW): 

The MSW is commonly known as residential garbage because it is waste generated from everyday activities which are discarded by the public. This type of junk also comes from nonindustrial sources such as restaurants, retail centers, and office buildings. Dumpster providers also consider green wastes like leaves, yard clippings and tree branches as MSW.

Hazardous wastes: 

The classification of hazardous wastes depends on the regulatory agencies and local laws of a municipality. However, wastes are classified as hazardous when they have potentially dangerous characteristics including chemicals, flammables or explosives, liquids, and other materials.

Other wastes that could be prohibited are electronics, paints, tires, toxic wastes, lead-acid batteries, and others. It is recommended that you get clarified by the dumpster service provider about the particular wastes they classify as hazardous or toxic.
